The film museum has a permanent exhibition that tells about the 100-year-old Armenian cinema. The samples, all the showpieces, audio-visual materials in the film museum tell about the Armenian cinema and film production, starting from 1923, when by the decision of the Armenian government the Armenian cinema was created. They are aimed to publicize the Armenian cinema, Armenian film art.
The legendary "Fireplace Hall" of the Union of Film Professionals of Armenia is also part of the film museum, where the walls hold original signatures of Armenian and world cinema filmmakers and famous Armenians, photographs that "talk" about the history of the "Fireplace Hall". Film Vault
The Film Vault of the Union of Film Professionals of Armenia was built in June, 2022. The film repository is part of "National Cinematheque Concept" creative educational-cultural-touristic hub.
Before the construction of the film vault, the UFPA carried out collection works for five years: mostly films on 35mm prints were acquired, which are part of the heritage of different film cultures. Prints belonging to the Armenian film heritage were also found and saved from final destruction.
There are also donations from various filmmakers and film organizations in the film vault.
Currently (May, 2023), the Film Vault holds almost 280 films on 35mm prints and over 3,000 films digitized and on various media.
The archive aims to maintain the film heritage as perfect as possible, meanwhile supporting its publicity, providing a research and study platform for educational, cultural, and scientific circles.
